Olga Gimeno
Olga Gimeno was born in Bédarieux into 1940 from a family from Spanish republicans. She discovers her passion for the Visual arts while following the teaching of the painter Robert Thon with whom she will maintain a relation Master with pupil privileged until the death of that Ci. From 1958 to 1962, to the Art schools of Toulouse, it will follow the courses of Pages, Schintone, Fauché and Monin, itself raises of the Bourdelle sculptor. In 1963, it selected to privilege the education of his/her two daughters, the photographer Flora and Djouna Monsillon, with the detriment of its career.
Having concluded this project, it can be finally devoted completely to its art since about fifteen years. Also free and fertile with watercolours, the papers stuck or acrylic resin, being played of the difficulties of the most various techniques, mosaic, sculpture, engraving on wood, zinc, on copper, so creative in each discipline, it asserts the influences of Picasso, Bosch, Kandinsky, Matisse, forgets neither Chagall, nor Rembrandt.
Of a generous nature, answering waiting of its entourage, since 1998, it shares its knowledge and its love of the Visual arts with its pupils within the framework of the Workshop Elsewhere.
