Olenoides

Olenoides is a Trilobite Schistes of Burgess which measured 11 cm more or less. Its long curved antennas were well preserved in the schist of Burgess. Its legs were furnished at their base with a series with spines intended to capture the preys and to bring them towards the mouth. Its thin members indicate to us that it is not a question of a swimmer. It was a predator and an active extractor moving on muddy sea-beds. The fossilized traces that it left in the lower sediments prove than it crawled in the funds and dug in the search of food. The soft parts of the fossils of Olenoides were particularly well preserved, showing members, traces of intestine, and other fabrics soft, which made it possible to make of it a detailed description of most known trilobites.
