Oleg Konstantinovitch Antonov (in Russian ОлегКонстантиновичАнтонов); * 25. January February 7th 1906 with Troïtsi close to Moscow, † April 4th 1984 in Moscow), Soviet aeronautical manufacturer.
After having finished its studies in 1930 at the polytechnic university of Leningrad, he worked until 1938 as chief of the research department of a building firm of Planeur S. He devoted himself thereafter with Yakovlev inter alia to the development of heavy sailplanes (transport of freight) (Antonov A-7, Antonov A-11) and of hunter. From 1946, it conceived in the factory which bears its name various planes of which some remained legendary in the East, in particular the Year-2, biplane of transport of passenger and freight called Anna or the tractor of the airs and manufactured to more than 15.000 specimens since 1947.
To also quote: Turbopropeller S as the Middle-distance Year-10 Ukraina (1957) as well as the Year-22 ( Antæus ) (1969) which was in its time one of the largest planes of the world and the Year-124 Ruslan (1982).
The current holder Year-225 Mrya (1988) was conceived only after his death.
In reward of its work, Oleg Antonov was decorated three times with the Ordre of Lénine and was named Héros of socialist work.
