Synopsis
The solo part of the play proceeds in five shifts where the player incarnates for each one of them a military figure of the time (William Wallace, Jeanne d' Arc, Gengis Khan, Barberousse, and Saladin) and recalls the battles where this one was illustrated.
Multijouor
The success of Old off Empires II lies mainly in a perfectly balanced mathematics. None of the 73 units of the play has an indisputable advantage on the others. The play envisages three multijoueurs modes.
the random chart mode, more played, puts in opposition from 2 to 8 players in baited parts, where tactic, speed, team game and sometimes chance, influences the part which can be spread out over several hours. This mode of play regularly gives place to competitions.
the mode deathmatch makes it possible each player to begin the part with an significant amount of resources. The combat between the various empires are then very fast and particularly violent one.
the mode Custom Scenario makes it possible to the players to play on charts which they themselves designed. This mode of play was at the origin of a multitude of charts, unquestionable original recreating historical battles, whereas others sought to create new situations to fight battle.

Age off Empires II was entitled to a Add one named “ The Conquerors ”. Based primarily on the discovery of the New World by Europeans, he adds new civilizations, new technologies, new campaigns, new charts, improvements of gameplay and modifies certain key concepts of the play.
Gameplay
In a standard part, the player begins the part with some villagers and a forum (central building which accommodates food and " produit" of the villagers). The villagers then undertake to collect the various resources of the play (Or, Bois, stone and Nourriture). What makes it possible to build the various buildings of the play in order to produce military units and to reach technological improvements. Once its army in place, the player does not have then any more but to achieve its objectives (most frequent consisting in eliminating the adversaries).A part can last easily more than two hours. It is however possible to safeguard a part in progress.
In a part in mode Fights with death, the player begins the part with resources of number much more significant. This type of part is generally played with an post-imperial starting (imperial age with all the improvements of already made units), consequently all the dynamism of the part is changed and, as opposed to what it could seem, the play is not strategic: the rate/rhythm and the development of each player are accelerated and the suppression of the upgrades and the development during the ages leaves the good share with the combat and the tactical management of the troops…
The economy is posed very quickly with the manner of a boom in order to quickly replace the starting reserves. This mode of play which developed much on Internet (that accounted for approximately 40% of the parts present on the waiters of Gaming Zone) request a great speed of action.
A part in this mode can be faster than in standard mode but is sometimes quite as long.
Civilizations
All civilizations do not resemble each other, in the direction where they do not have access to all technologies, and which each civilization has a clean unit (except the Spaniards, the Koreans and the Vikings which have two of them).
Strategies multijoueurs
Several standard strategies were developed, and their level of precision arrived at such a point that it is unthinkable to play as multijoueurs without applying them, under penalty of losing very quickly vis-a-vis experienced players.
Each strategy has a pre-established order of construction which it is advisable to respect while playing on Internet if one wants to have a good level. This order of constuction (also called BO for Build Order ) can appear secondary for the beginners or those which do not play in network - accustomed to play feeling - or miss originality for others, but it proved reliable in term of effectiveness. The BO is generally held at the beginning of part, then the player adapts his strategy according to the course of the part. Here some of these strategies.
-
Grush ( galley rush ): on the majority of the water charts, it is about a strategy impossible to circumvent consisting in producing the greatest number of galères, the only naval unit then available, as of the feudal age reached. The objective is to control water to have the seizure on the sea and to exploit its high contents in fish.
-
Flush ( feudal rush ): effective strategy on the charts where it is difficult to be defended, without or with few natural obstacles to stop the enemy. That consists to arrive as soon as possible at the feudal age and to produce military units to affect the unfavourable economy.
-
FC ( fast castle ): useful at the time of the parts of the 3v3 type for the player being for the medium and thus far from its adversary, or of course a chart where one can defend oneself easily thanks to many natural obstacles. The objective is to pass the age of the castles quickly, approximately (16.30min for the experts) and to generally produce knights or warriors eagles for Amerindian civilizations. On the charts including/understanding of water, one can pass to the castles more quickly (14min).
-
Booming (demographic explosion): strategy which consists in posing many forums on the chart and to produce much villager; of such kind to have a very good economy, especially at the end of the play. One can make the same thing with the fishing vessels in certain cases, one speaks then about boat booming.
If one wants to have a good level and to put these strategies into practice, it is advisable to get information about the order exact of the tasks to be carried out while going to see on various Web sites or better still, by viewing recorded parts of experts. The following stage is to involve itself in solo to reduce the errors to the minimum and to optimize the tasks. Lastly, if one wishes to put to the test his talents, it is necessary to play on Internet vis-a-vis true adversaries coriaces.
In the same way, in mode fights with death, it exists many strategies like:
-
Rush : the Rush as its name indicates it consists of a fast attack as of the launching of the part, its objectives being multiple since it can make it possible to destroy the adversary, simply to take the ascending one in the control of the chart and the points of resources, or to delay it in the launching of its economy. The Rush is generally carried out by waves and is quickly followed construction of a castle in advanced zone which will be used thereafter as support.
-
Frush (or fast rush): it is generally the direct sending of paladins on the enemy basis with as only target the enemy villagers (one avoids the military combat). Frush is often only the first stage of a Rush against an experienced player.
-
Clump : Clump is a departure being based on the castles in order to reach quickly the special unit while protecting its villagers against a Rush, this technique became inevitable in particular for the players using Persians.
These some strategies relate to only the launching of the part. They are quickly relayed by the Raids consisting in badgering the adversary by fast attacks aiming its economy, control of the chart and by all the tactics related to the combat.
In a way similar to the standard mode, to precisely learn the order from the tasks in the starting deployment of its civilization and those for each type of strategy and each type of adversary is paramount.
