Old Pulteney
Old Pulteney is a Distillerie of Whiskey located at Wick in the Highlands in Scotland. Except for two distillings of the islands the Orkneys, Old Pulteney is most septentrional of Scottish distillings.
Even if it were located on the continent, at the time of its creation in 1826, distilling were not accessible by overland route. It was supplied out of cereals by boats and the whiskey was taken along in the same way. At that time the majority of the workers of distilling were also fishermen.
Distilling is today the property of Inver House Distillers which has also Glenlivet or Balblair. It has 1 wash still and 1 spirit still and produces approximately 1 per annum million liters of pure alcohol.
Old Pulteney produces an individual malt sold as well in official version as by independent bottlers:
- Old Pulteney 8 years (by Gordon and Macphail an independent bottler)
- Old Pulteney 12 years
- Old Pulteney 15 years sherry Wood
