Olaf Nikolas Olsen

Olaf Nikolas Olsen (March 4th, 1794 - December 19th, 1848) (also spelled Oluf Nicolai or Nicolaj ) was a cartographer and official army Danish. He taught the cartography with the Royal School Junior and also with the new military academy as from 1830. He made leave staff in 1836 and was named in 1842 with the head of the topographic department with the rank of major. He was promoted with the rank of colonel in 1848.

He published and published many charts of Europe as cartographer. In its functions of general, it directed the publication of the Danish charts of ordinance. It supervised also the publication of the first complete chart of Iceland according to the statements establish by Björn Gunnlaugsson between 1831 and 1843.
