Olaf Gothfrithson
Olaf Gothfrithson (Irish Amlaíb mac Gofraidh ) king of Dublin 934 - 939/941 and king of the Kingdom Viking of York 939 - 941
Olaf succeeds his/her father Gothfrith Uí Ímair as king de Dublin. It also intervenes in Northumbrie and in 937 it ties an alliance with Constantin II of Scotland from which it marries a girl and Breton Royaume of Strathclyde. The new allies are demolished with the Bataille of Brunanburh by the king Athelstan of England.
One second attempt against England is carried out after the death of king Athlestan in 939. Olaf attacks the Mercie and ransacks Tamworth and seizes " Five Boroughs " (Leicester, Lincoln, Stamford, Nottingham and Derby).
Olaf Gothfritson dies into 939/941 and it has as a successor with York his cousin Olaf Kvaran and with Dublin his brother Blacair Gothfrithson.
