Okeh Records
Okeh Records was a independent label of music created in 1918 and based with the the United States before becoming at the end of the Années 1920 a Filiale of Columbia Records.
History
Okeh was created by Otto K.E. Heinemann (1877 - 1965), a manager of the American branch of the German label Odeon Records. Indeed, whereas the First World War devastation the Europe, Heinemann thinks that it would be better to have a company based in the United States. It incorporates the Otto K.E. Heinemann Phonograph Corporation in 1916, sets up its clean Studio of recording and a system of press of Microsillon S at New York and opens the recordings of the company to the public in September 1918.
