Paleontology

Geology

The albiennes layers, which one finds in the Country of Caux, are prolonged to the Country of Bray. These layers are updated thanks to the careers, many in the Country of Bray. These careers are used with manufacture of bricks and tiles, with clays known as of Gault, which settled during the Gault. As strange as that can appear, the bones of sauropode discovered with Villers-St-Barthelemy come from the sedimentary rocks of the marine Gault . (Marine Clays of Gault). De Lapparent quickly raised the question about the source of these fossils of dinosaurs in rocks of the marine Gault. Lapparent hesitated between the Ardennes and Brittany. Thanks to more deepened study, it knew that the sauropode came rather from Brittany , at a distance from 150 Kms of the site of the discovery.

History

In 1945, during a first prospection carried out by the Abbot of Lapparent, a student discovered three caudal vertebrae of dinosaurs, in a career. Some time later, Gabriel Lucas, (teaching in the Sorbonne), accepted 7 other vertebrae of the career. It seems that the caudal vertebrae belong to a single individual. And thus one year later, the Abbot of Lapparent reconstituted a piece of tail of the sauropode of 1 m length. It seems impossible to make a precise identification.

History

At the time of the Roman conquest the territory of Oise is divided between various Gallic tribes. Most important is that of the Bellovaques which occupy the vastest part located on Right Bank of the Oise (Isara). The town of Beauvais car its name of that of the Bellovaques. The Silvanectes live on left bank of the river. The town of Senlis holds its name of this tribe.

June 1st 987 after the death of Louis {{Romanian|V|5}} Lazy the, Hugues Capet count de Paris east elected king with Senlis.
