Oinville-on-Montcient

Oinville-on-Montcient is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at approximately 14 km in the North-East of Mantes-the-Pretty and at 6 km in the North-West of Meulan.

Oinville-on-Montcient is included in the perimeter of the Regional natural park of French Vexin.

“Oinville” would be derived from a Germanic name of origin, Undo .

Geography

Located in the south of the French Vexin, in the valley of the Montcient, Oinville-on-Montcient is a rural and residential district. It is bordering on Montalet-the-Wood and Jambville in north, of Brueil-in-Vexin in the west, Seraincourt and Juziers and the Mézy-on-Seine in the south.

With the variation of the main roads, the commune is served by the D913 road which connects Meulan to Vétheuil.

History
