Oil Kings d\' Edmonton
Oil Kings d' Edmonton was the name of a frankness from Hockey founders of the Western Hockey League in 1966. The team played Edmonton in the Alberta.
History
The Kings Oils go back to before creation from the WHL and gained the Coupe Memorial in 1963 and 1966, they played then in the league of hockey of Alberta. In 1966, Bill Hunter anxious to unify the hockey of the Canada decides to create a new league while benefitting from concern in the Ligue of hockey junior of Saskatchewan.In 1971 and 1972, the team gains the Coupe of the President as a better team of the season but in fact, that will be the last title of the team which cannot compete with the Oilers d' Edmonton of the Worldwide association of hockey.
In 1974, the team moves with Portland in Oregon to become the Winter Hawks de Portland.
In 1978, the Bombers de Flin Flon move in Edmonton but there will remain only one season.
In 2007, a new frankness must settle in Edmonton and make revive the name of the team for the WHL.
