Oggy and cockroaches

Oggy and the cockroaches is a Televised series of Quebec Animation in 156 8 minutes episodes, created by Jean-Yves Raimbaud and Charles Vaucelle, and carried out by Olivier Jean-Marie. She was diffused September 6th 1999 with the April 5th 2003 on France 3 in the emission Minikeums then repeated on Canal J and Gulli. Synopsis

The series tells the life of a Chat, alive in an immense house and which is unceasingly annoyed by a band of three Cafard S. the gags of this series can to only point out us those of the famous cartoons of the past. The characters have a very particular language, one can even say that the cats do not miaulent that with half… they never pronounce words and are made include/understand by onomatopoeias or gestures.

In this series, food is often made up of… chickens. These chickens symbolizing food, like many other elements of this cartoon, or other more or less discrete winks make reference to the great classics of the cartoon such as Tom & Jerry or others from Warner Bros.

Some other recurring details: do the televised programs seen, the discs and books handled by Oggy, often introduce a celebrity (South American?) in effigy. It seems responsible for any cultural event of the life of Oggy. When it goes to the toilets, the cat often starts the reading of a magazine: WC Mag .

Oggy and the cockroaches thus constitute in more than one way a modern equivalent of these famous predecessors. One notices it at the duration of the episodes, with the recurring confrontation of the characters with blow of traps or sticks of dynamite being often turned over against the sender, with the marked manufactured goods “ACME”, with the style of the gags, the trio “cats, dogs, cockroach” which points out the “dog, cat, canary” of Titi and Grosminet.

The producer and the creative team of this cartoon are the same one as the cartoon Zinzins of space . Lastly, only one DVD of 10 episodes, " Oggy and cockroaches, vol. 1, of Olivier Jean-Marie, 2003" is currently appeared.

The cartoon is currently on the chain " Gulli" who is available on the TNT (digital terrestrial television).

Characters

Oggy : the blue cat. one can note that the kitchen and the TV are among its first passions…

Joey, Dee Dee and Marky : the three cockroaches (reference to the Ramones) Dee Dee, the large orange cockroach which is worried only its stomach, Marky, the large green cockroach, a little beta, and Joey, the small purple cockroach, the gang leader of the cockroaches, a small nasty piece of work always full with ideas which works out the plans with its band of pals cockroaches.
