Officinal pellitory

The officinal Pariétaire ( Parietaria officinalis L.) is a species of the family of the Urticaceae .

Description

It is an annual herbaceous plant, measuring 50 with 70cm height, with long rhizome. The pellitory, cousin of the nettle, are very rich in potassium salt and thus have a capacity diuretic.
Son pollen is frightening for the Allergie S.

Distribution

One finds it everywhere but more especially in the grounds dryness, in the rocks, close to the walls.

Potassium salts, tannin, bitter principle.

Use

Was used it formerly to polish glasses and coppers.

Pharmacopeia

  • Property: Diurétique, cholagogue, vulnerary
The cataplasms of crushed sheets have a lenitive action on the surface burns. Its preferential indication is for the diseases of the urinary tracts.
