Office of the coordination of humanitarian associations

The Bureau of the coordination of humanitarian associations ( OCHA - Acronym English for Office for the Coordination off Humanitarian Affairs ) is a department of the Secrétariat of the United Nations. It was established in December 1991 by Resolution 46/182 of the General meeting. It was a question of reinforcing the response of the the United Nations to the crises and the natural disasters. It was then created the Department of Humanitarian associations, thus replacing the Office of the United Nations de Coordination for the helps in the event of catastrophe, itself created in 1972. The OCHA is the result of the reorganization of the Department of Humanitarian associations in 1998. It is indicated like the spearhead of UNO in the catastrophes. Its mandate was widened to include the coordination of the humane answer, the development policy and the humane plea.
