Offagne
Offagne (in Walloon Ofagne ) is a section of the common Belgian of Paliseul located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

August 24th, 1914, the 118e IR of the German army passed there by the weapons 13 civilians during the German Atrocités made at the beginning of the invasion in the village of Assenois which before the fusion of the communes belonged to Offagne.
The name of Offagne is drawn from the Walloon " fagne" who means mud and who formerly decided faigne. In the beginning one could say " with the fanges" because the establishment of the village was in a muddy and marshy place. Later by corruption of orthography, d'" with the faignes" one made Offaigne then towards 1815 Offagne in the parochial files. The section of Offagne has 380 hectares of timber broad leaved and resinous (Saint-Hubert wood and Solmon wood).
