Origin and manpower

This race is originating in the Gironde. Traditionally, this race was high in the palus of the Gironde (wetland between the wine river and slopes) and provided Bordeaux out of milk and butter. Its decline with started at the 19th century. The arrival of the Railroad with license to supply themselves further out of dairy produce and to sell the wine well. Even the palus, however not very wine, were planted, driving out the breedings in the zones of poor sands of the north of the the Dordogne. A genealogical register was open in 1898.

Morphology

Production

It is good milker. Formerly, its butter was famous. The weakness of manpower does not make it possible to market of product 100% resulting from this race. The current goal is to recreate an enough important population to manage to manage consanguinity.
