Oengus
In the Celtic Mythology Irish, Oengus (or Aengus , or Mac Oc ) is the natural son of the Dagda and of Boand (name of the river Boyne), he was procreated and he was born the same day. Dagda had deceived the husband of Boann to remove it. Oengus means “single choice” and young Mac Oc “wire”. According to the habit of the Forest right, it is raised by Midir, a brother of its father. It has a named girl Curcog. In the organization of the Tuatha Die Danann, it is a god who takes part in the three functions (sacerdotal, warlike and artisanal - to see Indo-European tripartite Fonctions).
One describes it of a great beauty, always accompanied by four birds. In its sleep, it éprend of Caer Ibormaith, whose father, Ethal, refuse to give him the hand. Oengus the constrained one to say to him where it hides, he discovers it swimming on a lake, under the aspect of a swan in the middle of a hundred and fifty birds. The day of Samain, it also changes him and will seek the young girl. He is the adoptive father of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. He is comparable with Apollon of the Greek Mythologie.
He seizes by trick the residence his father, the Brug Na Boinne : he asks of it the property symbolic system for one day and a night. But in the Celtic field, one day and a night represent eternity, it thus becomes the appointed owner about it. Time and eternity are under its responsibility.
