Oedura castelnaui
This gecko is rather fine of aspect, but with a broad tail and bombée.
The basic color is the gray, with curved transverse bands backwards. These bands are black and yellow pâles.
It should be noted that the youthful ones have more contrasted colors, with a darker base and almost red very marked bands.
Geographical distribution
This Espèce is endemic north of the Australia. One more particularly finds this species in the north of the Queensland.
Subspecies
No known subspecies to date.
Climatic parameters
During the summer the Température S averages go from 25 to 28°C the day, with maximum close relations of 32°C. The night they cutent between 20 and 25°C. The Hygrométrie exceeds the 80% with points with 90%.

This species meets rather regularly in Terrariophilie and is regarded as relatively accessible, in spite of constraining climatic conditions to respect.
A Terrarium of type the wet and arboricolous of 50x60x60cm (lxLxH) is appropriate for a couple or a trio (a male and two females). Branches having hiding-places (foliages articiciels for examples) make it possible these geckos to climb and to hide during the day.
Food
These reptile S is Insectivore S and consumes the majority of the Insecte S of adapted size (cricket S, cockroach S…).
Behavior
It is a calm gecko, which hides during the day sometimes although it sometimes happens to him to leave punctually.
Maturity
The sexual characters appear as from six months, but these geckos is mature as from one year. The reproductions before one year and half are rare in nature, which is preferable because the females reach their full development only starting from this age.

The reproduction starts with the return of the high temperatures.

Layings
The layings consist of series of two eggs, and the females can lay up to six times.
Incubation
The eggs incubate between 26 and 28°C with a hygroscopy of 70-80% during a little more than three months.
The small ones
The small ones have the same needs as the adults. They start to feed only a few days after the birth, in general at the time of their first moults.
Diseases
Like all the geckos alive in moist environment, these animals are sensitive to the Déshydratation. It can cause problem of moults or other complications.
During the growth, these geckos is also sensitive to the food deficiencies, which can involve delays of growth.
