Oculometry
The oculometry gathers a whole of techniques making it possible to record the ocular movements. The most current oculometers analyze images of the eye captured by a Caméra, often in light Infrarouge, to calculate the direction of the glance of the subject. According to the desired precision, various characteristics of the eye are analyzed. Other techniques are based on the electric variations of potentials on the surface of the skin of the face or on the disturbances induced by a special lens on a magnetic field.
The oculometry is used as measurement technique for research in Psychologie, in Psycholinguistique, Ergonomie and for the pretests of Publicité. Other applications exist in Informatique, where the oculometer is used as man-machine interface. Finally the oculometry is also used in the medical field, for example for the study of the Sommeil.
