- François d' Assise: born Jean Bernardone in 1182. Initially fore-mentioned Jean by his mother, it was famous Françesco by his father. He preached the faith in Syria, then in Spain. On its return, it altered the rule franciscaine. It created its first French convent minor brothers with Vézelay.
