Octavien of Saint-Froze

Octavien of Saint-Froze , born with Cognac in 1468 and died in 1502, is a man of the church, Traducteur and Poète French.

Biography

In its youth it belongs to the court of Louise of Savoy in Cognac and it is known like poet. He studies theology, enters the orders in 1494, and, at 26 years Charles VIII appoints it bishop of Angouleme. During the epidemic of plague of 1502 it is withdrawn with Vars where it dies.

Clément Marot whom it influenced much wrote: “Octavien returns Cognac eternal”.

The poet and musician Mellin of Saint-Froze is its nephew or his natural son.

Its worms are curious and form many poetic kinds, with various combinations of rhymes and rates/rhythms. “Good-bye, Coignac, the second paradise, Chasteau sitting on river of Charente, Where so much of time am found to me formerly, Putting esbas and good expensive on sale When all this remember and ramente I in ay the mourning which passes any pleasure. That I euz never and hold it with leisure, To digest très-cuysant and doubtable By regret I am servy with table. ”
