Octave Spoils
Octave Spoils is a French politician, born on December 14th, 1860 with Margny-the-Compiegne (Oise) and deceased on August 23rd, 1926 with the Mount-Gilds (Puy-de-Dôme).
Local industrialist, Octave Spoils was mayor of Margny-the-Compiegne of 1896 to 1926, and marked the town of his print by making it pass from the situation of suburb of Compiegne to that of true city.
Appointed elected official of Oise in 1906, it had presented himself without label partisane, but with a program completely in the political line of the radicals. Beaten in 1910 by the right-wing candidate Baker-Sarlovèze, mayor of Compiegne, it took its revenge in 1914.
During this legislature, it sat on the benches of the Radical left, group gathering of the Radicaux independent and the elected officials of center left, of which it made from now on left, taking into account the evolutions of its personal positions.
During all the First World War, it defended a political line of Sacred union, considering that the single political objective was to gain the war.
Beaten at the time of the legislative elections of 1919, it was devoted to its mandate of mayor until his death, at the time of a cure, in 1926.
