Ocquier

Ocquier (in Walloon Okir ) is a section of the common Belgian of Clavier located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

It is also one of the most typical and authentic villages of the Condroz with its beautiful whole of stone masonries of the country.

The hamlet of Vervoz (Keyboard) is next to its territory.

Curiosities

  • the masterpiece par excellence of this village condruzien is, without question, its beautiful Romance church devoted to Remacle saint. Built since 1017 and restored with the beginning of the year 2000, this building in charge of history which will celebrate soon its millenium, is a remarkable and single witness in the area of this time of the Moyen-âge.
  • Some beautiful well preserved old constructions: the Manor house of the Gold Valley and the Court of the Monks , a priory of the 11th century.
