Oceansize

Oceansize is a group of progressive Rock composed of five people originating in Manchester. Formed in 1998, Oceansize already carried out two long albums Effloresce (2003) and Everyone Into Position (2005) and a EP Music For has Nurse (2004), to that is added some individual.

Making the rounds with The Cooper Temple Clause, Cellar In, People In Plane, Aereogramme, Mclusky, Biffy Clyro, and Porcupine Tree, Oceansize are not in the line of the groups of traditional Rock of Manchester, and recently acquire a growing popularity on the level of the international scene. Some even claim that they are the progressive rock group most widespread. They are influenced by the Beach Boys and Black Sabbath with Can, Cardiacs, Jane' S Addiction, Verve, Swervedriver, Tool and Tortoise. Some compared their sounds with the Pink Floyd, other strong influences were also Mogwai and My Bloody Valentine.

December 4th, 2005, the group publishes a press release, the bass player Jon Ellis announces that it leaves the group, but which it will continue to contribute musicalement.
