Obstetric Gynecology

The Gynecology - obstetric is a particularly complex and rich speciality of the Médecine.

The Gynécologie is interested in the woman, whatever her age, and with the diseases relating to the female genital apparatus, i.e. Vulve, Vagin, Utérus, horns and ovary S, Sein S. These diseases can be medical (treated by drugs) or surgical (treated by the surgery). The gynecologist thus exerts a medico-surgical speciality.

The Obstétrique is interested in the expectant mother and her (future) child. The Obstétricien thus has the load of two “patients”, and must control a certain number of complex techniques: medicine and Surgery of the Woman, but also often echography for the Antenatal diagnosis of certain affections of the Fetus. He is effectively assisted by the Sage-femme, which one can regard as the specialist in the normal pregnancy, whereas the gynecologist obstetrician is specialized in the assumption of responsibility of the pathological Grossesse.
