Observatory of Mow Campanas

The Observatoire of Mow Campanas is a astronomical observatory professional American of the foundation of research Carnegie Institution of Washington. It is located in the Andes cordillera, with the Chile, 27  km more in north that the Observatory of Silla. It lodges in particular both Télescopes Magellan 6 m in diameter.

Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) (giant Telescope Magellan) will be built in this observatory. It will consist of seven mirrors of 8,4 meters laid out in petals. The first 4 mirrors will be installed in 2013, and construction should be finished in 2016.
