Observatory Jodrell Bank
The Observatoire Jodrell Bank (at the origin the Jodrell Bank Experimental Station then, of 1966 to 1999, the Nuffield Radio operator Astronomy Laboratories ) is an observatory of Radioastronomie depend on the Université of Manchester. It is located close to Goostrey, in the Cheshire, the North-West of the England.
The name of “Jodrell Bank” comes from the name of the ground on which the observatory was set up. Jodrell is the name of the landowner at the time and bank indicates an English bank.

Research orientations
This observatory played a big role in the research of the Quasar S and of the Pulsar S. In 1979, of the scientists working with Jodrell Bank announced to have detected for the first time a gravitational Lentille, thus confirming the theory of the General relativity of Einstein.
