Obscure

ObsCure is a video game of the type survival horror developed by Hydravision and published by Microïds in 2004 on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. He however dissociates Silent Hill and Resident Evil for his side " teen horror movie" (fun + horror) and the possibility of playing 2 players, 5 different characters (who can die definitively throughout the play). The music, composed by Olivier Derivière and interpreted by the Chorus of children of the National Opera of Paris, gives also a strange environment to the play.

Scenario

Disappearances of pupils take place in a college. One day, Kenny remains late in the establishment to involve itself with the tennis shoe, when somebody steals his bag. While running to him afterwards, it leads in underground where it discovers a high-school pupil bald person and apprehensive locked up in a room. While leaving, they are pursued by a monster and… disappear. The following day, its Shannon sister and her Ashley small-friend are astonished not to have re-examined Kenny. Also, the evening after the courses, they are made lock up in the college to leave to its research, with the assistance of Josh, the " reporter" class.

Gameplay

The gameplay of obscure resembles much that of Silent Hill, with however of the differences. One plays 2 characters in co-operation, the second being replaced by an artificial intelligence when there is not a second player. There are 5 different playable characters, each one having one or two characteristics. Those can die throughout the play, without to cause a range over: the range over appears only when one has more at our disposal none of the characters. When they die, a trace in the shape of human body marks the place of death, and one can recover their objects (and to cry the death of our friend…).

Characters

Kenny Matthews : sportsman, it plays in the team of tennis shoe; he is the brother of Shannon and the small-friend of Ashley; he types more extremely, course quickly and can make a sprint on a short distance.

Shannon Matthews : good pupil, nice and looks after his look; she is the small-sister of Kenny; she looks after better and can give assistances and indications.

Ashley Thompson : pretty, given and a little forces; she is the small-friend of Kenny; she can type very extremely with the beaters and draw two cooups instead of one with the firearms.

Josh Casing : small to defer accro to the science fiction, very curious and sometimes a little breakage-foot; it more easily finds the objects and the indices, and indicates when there is still something to find in the part.

Stanley Jones : schemer, débrouillard, prefer to use his knowledge on the hacking of the notes of examinations on the computer of the college that on his copies of examinations; it hooks the doors particularly well and knows if it remains about it to hook in the part.
