Oblast de Novgorod

The Oblast de Novgorod (in Russian: Новгоро́дскаяо́бласть) is a federal subject of Russia, established in 1944. It is located in the federal District of the North-West, between Moscow and Saint-Pétersbourg. Its administrative center is Novgorod and the population of the Oblast rises with 694.355 inhabitants (2002), drops some compared to the 753.000 of 1989. 70% of the population live in rural area; one counts 10 cities in the Oblast.
