Oblast d\' Arkhangelsk
The Oblast d' Arkhangelsk (in Russian: Арха́нгельскаяо́бласть) is a federal entity Russian (Oblast). It includes the Archipel François-Joseph and the Nova Zembla, just as the autonomous district of Nenetsie. Its governor is Nikolaï Kiselyov.
The oblast of Arkhangelsk has a surface of 587 000 square kilometres (Nenetsie included) and a population of: 1336539 inhabitants (census of 2002).
The administrative center is Arkhangelsk, with a population of 350 000 people; historically, the centers were Khomolgory, Kargopol and Solvychegodsk.
