Obie Trice
Obie Trice is a rappor originating in Détroit born the November 14th 1977. He is member of the label Shady Records directed by Eminem.
Biography
He grew in the western south of the areas of Schoolcraft and of Greenfield, it is there that he finds his roots and or he draws all his energy.Very young person, it was very influenced by rappor like Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim or Redman. At 11 years it poses its first rhymes on the happy one of NWA, Run DMC, and of Big Daddy Kane thanks to a machine with karaoké for child whom his mother had bought to him. 14 years it attended already with rap battles, in particular every Saturday afternoon in a place called The Hip Hop Shop (room held by Proof).
Before devoting itself to the rap, Obie was SDF: during 3 years it connected odd job on odd job without really being able to set some share because of its problem with the authority. It did not support that one orders to him to make such or such thing. It is only with the birth of his/her daughter Kobie, on October 5th, 1998, that it decides to be caught in hand to make serious things, and thus decided to grate, moreover by seeing the success known by Eminem in 1999 it kept the hope to cut through a path in the rap range of Détroit.
It then started to pose on Street-Slaps, which were rather well sold in the underground medium, and decided to save the money little which it had to leave these sounds of independent. As soon as it had a little money, it spent it to go to record in studio. It also occurred in shows in Shelter (seen in the film 8 Mile) like with St-Andreas, another box of Détroit, but never took part in battles.
It decided to grate under its true name (already carried by his/her father and its grandfather) because it did not feel the need to take pseudo: " When I grate, it is me, it is my musique." It is that which he says besides in his texts: " Obie Trice, real name, No gimmiks… "
Some time later it met Proof in one limps called Detroit Hip-Hop School where met the majority of the rappeurs of Détroit. proof will present it to the whole of the group D12. But it is in fact Bizarre (another member of the D12) which will make rock its career: after having listened to one of its maxis, he proposed in Obie to join it in studio for kicker with dimensions of Eminem. Obie precipitated in its car, but when it arrived on the spot Em' was already in its case about to leave: it then lowered its pane momentary side and Obie started to balance its lyrics to him. Eminem said that he would point out it, but Obie really did not believe, and thought in it that he had just missed the chance by his life. But one week later, Paul Rosenberg of Shady Records (to manage Eminem) contacts it in order to discuss projects. Then it signed a contract with this Label.
Like he says it in introduction of the song of Eminem “Without Me” (Obie Trice, real name, No gimmicks), Obie Trice is not a pseudonym but his real name.
It is only into 2003 that its first album solo " appears; Cheers ", with many featuring like Eminem, Nate Dogg, Dr. DRE, 50 Hundred, Busta Rhymes, Lloyd Banks, Timbaland and the D12.
on December 31st, 2005 , Obie Trice was victim of two shots whereas it led on a highway of Strait. It was touched in full head and one of the balls penetrated in its cranium. Finally taken along to the hospital, it could leave there the very same day. However, the doctors always wonder if they must remove or not the ball in its head, such an surgical operation not being without risk.
In April 2006, at the time of the funeral of his friend Proof, assassinated a few days earlier, he addressed himself to the black men by saying that l'" one entretue".
After the death of Proof, Obie leaves its second album " Second Round' S One Me " , produces mainly by Eminem, and with Eminem, 50 Hundred, Akon & Nate Dogg in featuring.
