Oath

In a general way, the oath is a solemn assertion somebody in order to attest the truth of a fact, the sincerity of a promise, the commitment to fill the duties well of its function.
- Oath of fidelity: act which followed the homage, and by which the Vassal swore fidelity and assistance to its Suzerain.
- In right, the legal Serment is an oath lent in front of the judge who can be décisoire, promissory or suppletory.
- In political, the oath is a promise of fidelity and devotion to the government, required, by certain modes, of the leaders of the country or the civils servant.
