Nyala
The nyala is recognizable with its vertically streaked dress of fine white lines. If the peeling of the female is of beautiful a châtain sharp, the male is much darker, brown slate-coloured.
The male nyala has the large ones and solid horns elegantly arched, as well as a mane on the spine and the back; in period of rut it sets up its mane to parade in front of a female. One very little knows thing on the sexual behavior of the nyala.
The photograph opposite was taken in South Africa, in the Krüger Park, where this antelope is altogether relatively frequent.
Adult weight: 1 10 to 130 kg
Height with the garrot: 95 to 1 10 cm
