Nuns (people)
The Nones (or Noon ) are people of the west of the Senegal.
Territory
One especially finds them in the area of Thiès.
Population
In its Drafts sénégalaises (1853), the abbot Boilat described them as follows: “It is a beautiful black race. The men are tall and of fort beautiful constitution, all rather well vêtus, very soft, but of a firm and independent nature”.

They speak the noon, a language Cangin.
Religion
The Nuns are initially animists. Under the Second Empire, they resisted better than of other ethnos groups the Prosélytisme Musulman of the marabout S come from the Djolof or the Fouta. In the interval however some converted with the Islam or the Christianisme.
