Nunatak

A nunatak , Kalaallisut nunataq meaning mountain or monticule entirely covered with hardened ice , is a Montagne rising above the ice of the Inlandsis or the icecaps.

There exists about it with the Greenland and in the Antarctic but also with the Canada. This term also indicates any nonglacial surface surrounded by Glacier S. By the glacial erosion which they undergo on their sides, the nunataks very often have the aspect of mountains escarpées with the very stiff walls.
