Numismatics
The numismatic (of the old Greek νυμισμα , the legal tender ) is the science of the Monnaie S and Médaille S. It is particularly useful for research in old Histoire (Roman and Greek) and it is also used in Archéologie like criterion as dating. The collection of currencies was practiced since antiquity, but the first collections arrived until our days date from the 17th century.
The collector of coins is called numismatist .

Roman monetary history
The Roman currencies were struck in monetary workshops (of which the workshop behind the temple of Juno Moneta, from where the word currency) distributed on all the Roman Empire. Many monetary treasures were hidden during the invasions of the 3rd century and 4th century, their discovery provides sometimes important batches.
