Numerical Painting
The numerical painting is an incipient numerical form of Art in which the traditional techniques of the Peinture, such as the Aquarelle, the oils, the Impasto, are applied using numerical tools thanks to a Ordinateur, a Graphics tablet, a stylet and a Logiciel. Numerical painting differs from the other forms of numerical art, in particular art generated by computer, because it does not imply that the computer is based on a model. The artist employs techniques of painting to create numerical painting directly on the computer.
The principal difference between numerical painting and traditional painting is the nonlinear creative process. An artist can carry out several coats of paint (which one calls of the Calque S) which can be published independently. Moreover, the possibility of demolishing and of remaking painting releases the artist of the constraints of a linear process. However, numerical painting is limited by the way in which it uses the techniques of traditional painting because of the physical absence of support. On the other hand, the numerical artist has at his disposal several tools which its step available in painting traditional: a virtual pallet being composed of million colors, almost all sizes of fabric or medium and the possibility of correcting an error easily. One finds gums to be erased, pencils, brushes, combs and a variety of tools allowing to carry out paintings into two or three dimensions. The graphics tablet makes it possible the artist to work with the precise movements of the hand using a true pen.
Prosperous numerical painting and is usually employed in tographic industry Cinéma, the Télévision and the Video games. There exist many software of numerical painting like Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, GIMP or Open Canvas, which gives to the artists an environment similar to that of a traditional painter: a fabric, tools for painting, pallets of mixture and a multitude of options of color.
There exist varied numerical movement of painting such as the Impressionnisme, the Réalisme…
