Numéro Five is a character of the Televised series Battlestar Galactica , interpreted by Matthew Bennett.

Characteristics of the model

The model cylon number five, known among the human ones under the name of Aaron Doral , is a man in about thirty. One initially meets it on board the Battlestar Galactica , where it is in charge of the public relations. It appears then within the Coloniale fleet and on Caprica. At the beginning it seems to have for vocation to create a network of public relations and its character resembles a little the stereotype of the salesman of second-hand cars.

But Doral is actually an agent cylon. The function of its model is to sow the disorder and confusion, particularly at the time of critical situations. Its models undermine the authority which threatens their objectives. They are more discrete than the pimpantes Numéro Six, with their appearance of ordinary, affected man with minor situations like the conversion of the Galactica into museum. With the Numbers Three, these models are among most militant and fanatics of the objectives let us cylons of which they are eloquent defenders.

Copies: roles and characteristics

The copy in charge of the public relations on the Galactica

; The agent infiltrated
Doral seems to be exactly what he claims in the first minutes of the Télésuite: in charge of public relations. It coordinates the ceremony of disarmament and the transfer of the Galactica to the civil authorities represented by the Minister for education Laura Roslin. During the preparation of the ceremony, he makes fun of the Galactica , treating it of antiquity and pointing finger the automated systems of defense, vulnerable to the interferences of Cylons.
Doral is effective in its role: it is polished, capable of démener in its work without disturbing those which work around him and can manage the media. It generally carries a costume emerald and a tie.
When Laura Roslin takes the head of the Colonial Heavy 798 and communicates to the passengers the news nuclear attack on the twelve colonies, Doral protests immediately: (“  Do Eh wait… Which said to you to give me orders? ”). Later, Doral tries to convince the captain Lee Adama to take again the role of chief whom Roslin assumed. The captain notes the council but supports Roslin in his decisions, giving Doral to his place.
; The scapegoat
Shortly after the arrival of Gaïus Baltar on the Galactica , Doral becomes the scapegoat which Baltar needs to be diverted the suspicions which could weigh on him after the attack of Cylons. Numéro Six handles the choices of Baltar partly but this one appears to act of its own boss.
Decree and jeté in prison, Doral clamp its innocence and tries to be justified by calling upon its history and the reasons which placed it there: it was born with Oasis , hamlet close to Caprica City, and grew in the south of this city before leaving for Geminon, where it studied the public relations at the university of Kobol. It is locatable with its red clothing.

This copy testifies to a greater hardness towards the human ones than Numéro Six. Thus when the cylonne considers it regrettable that it is necessary to exterminate humanity to wait the objectives cylons:

Six: All that returns triste.
so much to me Five: They would have destroyed them-even in all manners. They deserve to them sort.
Six: We are the children of humanity. That made of them our parents in a sens.
Five: Truth… but the parents must die. It is the only manner for the children of becoming themselves|Cylons humanoïdes numbers five and six|

Later, however, when Numéro Six rejects the affection of Valerii for Agathon, and that the experiment takes bad turning, Numéro Five testifies for the first time to a certain curiosity for the passion which animates Helo: “Even distressed, it seemed… so alive. ”.

One sees several copies of Number Five on Caprica occupied by Cylons when Six of Caprica returns to the life; one learns on this occasion that it is the fifth in the series of the twelve Cylon models. A copy of Doral belongs to the male nurses of rebirth which activate the Numéro Six of Caprica, then Sharon Valerii of the Galactica , the “  Heroins of Cylons  ” returned with the life in a new body. He says to Sharon Valerii that Cylons are proud of it.

Another copy is waiter in the coffee attacked by the group of resistance of Samuel Anders, whereas another safe Numéro Six and Sharon of the ruins of the garage later the same day.

A copy also forms part of the group which leads the invasion of New Caprica to the sides of “Heroins of Cylons”. Faithful to its basic personality, this Number Five is direct when he insists on rendering without resistance of the Colonial ones.
