Number Eight

Numéro Eight is the name of a character of the Televised series Battlestar Galactica , interpreted by Grace Park.

The model humanoïde cylon Numéro Eight is a woman of Asian appearance, very beautiful, generally nervous.

Its two most famous specimens are two Sharon Valerii.

the first (called Boomer because of its code of pilot) was unaware of very its nature of cylon until its mission in a Vessel-mother cylon in the episode Kobol' S Last Gleaming , where she saw many of her doubles. Nice, sincere and sensitive, she thought of being the girl of Abraham and Catherine Valerii, all the two dead ones when she was still child. She was pilot of Rapace (a light spaceship of recognition and electronic Guerre) on board the Galactica , to which she was affected 2 years before the attack of Cylons on the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. She met there Chef-mécanicien Galen the Tyrol, whom she projected to marry. At the time of the attack cylon, she escaped from accuracy from death, and she due to pose her Raptor in urgency on Caprica to repair it. She returned then on the Galactica after having took refugees (of which Dr. Gaïus Baltar, to which its team-member Karl Agathon had given his place). As of this moment, it started to have nightmares and bad presentiments, starting to suspect its true nature, but not accepting it. So much so that it made a few weeks later an suicide attempt, which failed.

It was in charge some time later of a mission: to convoy a Nuclear weapon in a vessel-mother cylon Basestar orbits about it around Kobol, to destroy it. She aquitta perfectly of her mission, but then discovered her true nature, after having seen ten copies of itself. A little later its nature cylon took the top a few moments and it drew several balls from guns in the chest of the commander William Adama, who came very close to death. It was put in cell, desperate to have been able to do that with a man whom it admired, like all the crew of the Galactica .

Some time later, she was assassinated by Cally, one of her former friends. As all cylons them dead, its conscience was downloaded in a body indentic, in a Vessel of Resurrection cylon. It settled shortly after in the new colony Cylon de Caprica, in its old apartment. She however refused the contact with other Cylons, always regarding herself as human, and required to be called Sharon and not Numéro Eight. She ends however up binding friendship with the Numéro Six which had been the partner of Baltar, having a common point with her: to be fallen in love with human and being returned account with it that the project from Cylons with extermination with Humanity is " mal" ( one fished with the eyes of God ) and that Cylons creation of the homme") are not infallible, it will take the head of a movement of " Cylon" resistance; [episode 2-18 " Téléchargement" , charged to reform their organization.

the second Sharon Valerii as for it knows since the beginning that it is a Cylon. Equipped as a pilot with Raptor, it left to the meeting Karl Agathon on Caprica, making him believe that it was it true Sharon. It ends up alluring it and fell pregnant from him, first stage of a Cylon project of hybridization of the two species. However, after having seen another Number Eight, Agathon included/understood trickery and tried to kill her. It left him finally the safe life, and they finished by being able to join the Fleet. It was not killed by the Human ones in information exchanges on Cylons, and thanks to the protection of Agathon, in love with it. It was confined of a hybrid girl Humain/Cylon fore-mentioned Héra, who was removed to him and entrusted to a sterile mother. Sharon, as for it, lived in the cell of Galactica before being allowed in the fleet with the rank of Lieutenant in order to help the inhabitants of the News Caprica to flee planet, it knew to gain the confidence of the crew and seems honest with the mankind, her code name is Athéna, goddess of wisdom and the war, found by Brendan Constanza. She learned recently that his/her Hera daughter did not die in the birth as she it believed but that she was adopted and recovered by Cylons during the exodus of the News Caprica.
