Nuh ibn Asad
Nuh I ibn Asad (death in 841/842) was leading a Samanide of Samarkand (819 -841/2). He was the son of Asad.
In 819 Nuh is seen entrusting the direction of the town of Samarkand by the governor of the Khorassan of Caliph Al-Ma' mun, Ghassan ibn “Abbad, rewards for it for its support against the Rafi rebel” ibn Laith. It continues to control the city until its death into 841 or 842. Abdallah, the governor of Khorassan, then decided to name two of the brothers of Nuh, Yahya and Ahmad, to control Samarkand jointly.
