The nuclear site of Creys-Malville is established on the commune of Creys-Mépieu (Isere) to 50 km in the east of Lyon and 60 km in the west of Chambéry. The site is in edge of the the Rhone to 30 km upstream of the Nuclear plant of Bugey.
The site shelters Super-Phenix, an industrial prototype of the die of the fast reactors and coolant sodium of great power. Shut down final in December 1998 on government decision, it is today in phase of dismantling.
Approximately 200 people still work on the site of Creys-Malville.
