The nuclear plant of Vermont Yankee is located on the town of Vernon of the county of Windham in the Vermont on a ground of 0,5 km.

Description

The power station is equipped with only one ebullient water reactor (REB) built by General Electric:
  • Vermont Yankee : 535 MWe, brought into service in 1972 per 40 years (2012).
The cooling of the engine is ensured by the river Connecticut.

The power station of Vermont Yankee belongs to Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee LLC , subsidiary of the group Entergy and it makes it possible to answer approximately 35% energy needs of the state of Vermont. It provides nearly the three quarters of its needs in electricity.
