Nuclear plant of Leibstadt
The nuclear plant of Leibstadt is located in the canton of Argovie in Suisse, with some steps downstream from the mouth of the Aar in the the Rhine.
The power station
The Nuclear plant of Leibstadt is most recent of Switzerland. It was brought into service the December 15th 1984. Its engine is a ebullient Water reactor which provides a thermal power of 3515 MWt and an electric output of 1165 MWe. It is the largest nuclear plant of Switzerland in electric term of production. It produces 15% of the electrical energy of Suisse.It is equipped with a Tower cooling like the Nuclear plant of Gösgen.
Safety
In 2003, an activist of association Greenpeace succeeded in going up on the containment (concrete dome) of the nuclear reactor before being located. This action was intended to show the brittleness of the power stations.
