Nuclear plant of Fitzpatrick

The nuclear plant of Fitzpatrick is located close to the town of Oswego in the State of New York, on a ground of a surface of 3,6 km ² which lodges also the Nuclear plant of Nine Mile Not.

Description

The power station is equipped with an ebullient water reactor (REB) built by the company General Electric:
  • Fitzpatrick : 840 MWe, brought into service in July 1974 for 40 years.
It was built by the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation but it was then yielded, with Nine Mile Not, with the energy authority of the state of New York: New York Power Authority (NYPA).

At present, the engine is held and exploited by Entergy which exploits also the two engines of the Nuclear plant of Nine Mile Not.
