Nuclear plant of Belleville

The nuclear plant of Belleville is established with the Belleville-on-Loire (Cher) close to Léré, in edge of the Loire between Nevers (70 kilometers downstream) and Orleans (100 km upstream).

Approximately 620 people work in Belleville. The installation of Belleville is composed of two Nuclear reactors P' 4 which produce each one 1300 MW. It is localized at the edge of the Loire which constitutes its cold source.

Incidents

Twelve militants of Greenpeace penetrated on March 27th, 2007 in the nuclear plant of the Belleville-on-Loire in order to register on one of the turns of cooling of the slogans of opposition to the construction of the EPR (European pressurized Réacteur) to the Nuclear plant of Flamanville.
