Nuclear plant of Barsebäck

The Nuclear plant of Barsebäck is a power station of Sweden which was stopped and which is located at Kävlinge, Skåne. Owing to the fact that it is located at 20 kilometers only Copenhagen, the Danish government did everything for its closing for the period of production.

Description

Following the decision of stop of the nuclear electrical production for Sweden, the two engines of Barsebäck are stopped today.
  • Barsebäck 1 : 600 MWe, stopped in 1999.
  • Barsebäck 2 : 600 MWe, stopped in 2005.
Before its stop, the power station was exploited by Barsebäck Kraft AB, a subsidiary company of Ringhals AB, and it belonged to shares equal to Vattenfall and Sydkraft.
