Ntozake Shange

Ntozake Shange (delivery in-to-za-ké chan-gay) (born the October 18th 1948) is an artist Afro-American. Artist of performance, playwright and poet, it is recognized on the other side of the Atlantic for his part For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf rewarded by many prices.

It is also the author of Betsey Brown a novel on the life of an young girl Afro-American in running away.

Biography

Ntozake Shange was born Paulette Williams in Trenton in the New Jersey in a family from the upper middle class. His/her father, Paul T. Williams; was surgeon in the air force (U.S. Air Force) and his/her mother Eloise Williams was social psychiatrist and teacher. At the 8 years age, she moved with her family for Saint-Louis where the racial segregation was strong.
