Nozomi
Inaugurated the March 14th 1992, the Nozomi is the fastest service road of the line of Shinkansen Tokaido/Sanyo. On the section Hiroshima - Hakata, the train can reach 300 km/h (186 mph), which does of them one of the commercial service roads fastest in the world. The voyage of Tokyo to Osaka (515 kilometers) takes only 2:30 in Nozomi. The Shinkansen series 500 and Shinkansen series 700 are used for the Nozomi service roads.
The trains stop at a little less stations than the trains Hikari. On the Tokaido line, Nozomi stops with the Gare of Tokyo, the Gare of Shinagawa, the Gare Shin-Yokohama, the Gare of Nagoya, the Gare of Kyoto and the Gare Shin-Ōsaka. On the Sanyo line, all Nozomi stop with the Gare Shin-Kobe, the Gare of Okayama, the Gare of Hiroshima, the Gare of Kokura and the Gare of Hakata. Certains Nozomi also stops at other stations. Nozomi is the only train JR for which it is not possible to use the Japan Rail Not.
The word nozomi (のぞみ) means " espoir" or " souhait" in Japanese. He was selected because something of faster than the terms Hikari (" light, rayon") and Kodama (" écho") indicating the service roads preexistent was necessary.
