Noyelles-les-Seclin

Noyelles-lès-Seclin is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Geography

History

Noyelles knew three historical events:

In 1708 , at the time of the seat of the town of Lille by the duke of Malborough (August has October), the French troops arriverent south to try to raise the seat. Malborough having established a double belt around Lille while being pressed on the rivers and the marshes, the center of its device was with wattignies and faced the plains of Seclin and Noyelles.

In 1786 , with the general states the Flanders was represented by the count Charles de Lannoy, living the castle of wattignies, assisted of the baron of the Exchange living the white castle has Noyelles.

In September 1944 , the city was in the center of a desperate attempt at resistance in advance of the troops of release. The German garrison of the fort of seclin left its position on September 1st, 1944, to put out of battery its guns in the middle of glazing bar at the entry of the village of objective Emmerin.Leur was to surprise the British troops which advanced towards Belgium. German managed to trap 2 English tanks on September 3rd, 1944.
