Novi Kneževac

Novi Kneževac , in Serb Cyrillic НовиКнежевац, in Hungarian German Törökkanizsa and Neu-Kanischa, is a city and a municipality of Serbia located in the autonomous province of Voïvodine, on banks of the Tisa. They belong to the district of the septentrional Banat. In 2002, the city counted 7.581 inhabitants and the municipality of which it is the center 12.975, including 59,53% of Serbes and 29,78% of Hungarian.

The name of the city derives from the Serb word " knez" who means " the prince".
